FRENCH FRIES IN CHITTOOR: A TALE OF TWO FRIENDS

Cafes are not only about food. It is more about shared love, laughter and memorable conversations. Here is one such story of two friends.
Two women were sitting opposite to each other in Honey Bee House. One of them was looking at the menu card, while the other was lost in her thoughts.
“Salty fries or Peri Peri fries?” asked Ananya.
“Does it really matter which potato we munch on now?” Replied Sophie.
“Hey… You seem upset, what happened?”
“Nothing. The time we take to eat the fries is the time I have left with you, so I do not care which flavour of fries I eat now.”
“Hey… Do not worry, I will be back in a year.” Ananya paused before continuing, “And it is always Salty fries that wins over Peri- Peri fries.”
“I don’t think so, the spices in the Peri- Peri fries enhance the whole taste, and your salty fries are as bad as your decision to leave the country!”
Ananya laughs. “Really? I never thought you'd miss me this much. And for the record, the crispness in the Salty fries can never be replaced by your Peri Peri fries.”
Sophie continued, “It is not funny, you are my best friend! If you leave, who will I have French Fries with?”
Ananya smiles, “ Is this about French fries now?”
Sophie remains silent.
The waiter came to take the order.
“One Peri Peri fries please,” Sophie ordered to the waiter.
“Anything else ma’am?” Asked the waiter.
“No, thank you," replied Sophie.
Ananya looked at Sophie with a smile.
“Someone was so against the Peri Peri fries, what changed now?”
“At the end of the day, I want you to be happy. So I accept your decision. Take care of yourself, okay? Call me everyday!”
“Yeah sure, I will.”
The waiter served a hot plate of Peri Peri fries.
Both of them talked and laughed as they ate the plate filled with Peri Peri fries.
Some goodbyes become a bit easier when shared over a plate of fries.
